As most of us will find during winter, it is hard to keep complexion looking refreshed, bright and nourished. As Dr. Joshua Zeichner (a dermatologist and director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City) says “As winter temperatures fall and the air gets drier, your skin pays the price,”. We have put together a little beauty routine for your skin to overcome this!

Overnight facial

Intensive overnight masks give your skin extra hydration and you will wake up with super-soft skin in the morning! There are plenty of brands to choose from! If you have oily skin, perhaps try a lightweight mask and for more dry skin try for the most thick and rich moisturizer.

Find and use a lip balm that really works!

Cracked lips are very common in winter and some lip balms just don’t do their job!! If you haven’t already, Carmex is wonderful and prevents chapping! It also doesn’t break the bank!

Moisturize after your showers!

Leave a body moisturizer in your bathroom and ensure you moisturizee straight out of the shower every time!

Don’t neglect your hands, nails and cuticles!

There is nothing worse than the feeling of chapped rough hands!! Thoroughly moisturize your cuticles and nails too – Kiehl’s ultimate strength salve is an absolute winter GOTO.

Avoid long hot showers and baths

In winter nothing is better than a long hot shower or bath, however the hot water takes the natural oils out of the skin and creates more dryness. Opt for warm water instead of hot and if you absolutely must have a bath – add some essential oils to your bath water!

Stay active

Staying active helps stimulate blood circulation which has a positive effect on your skin!

bye for now!
